Not accepting applications at this time
We are not accepting volunteer applications at this time due to our busy schedule and training. Please check back later in the year, and we look forward to hopefully having you on our team!
CHECK BACK SOON
Please read before you apply
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Nature’s Educators! Our goal is to make volunteering a fun learning experience focused on all aspects of wildlife care. You will work alongside staff, but sometimes on your own and be responsible for cleaning and general care of the ambassadors. Specific duties include food preparation, cleaning cages, maintaining a clean environment, refreshing food and water in enclosures, attending programs, and other duties as specified by staff.
Volunteers will assist experienced staff in all aspects of daily care. This is a great way to get hands-on experience with wildlife!
Volunteering is a great way to give back to nature, socialize with like-minded people, and experience a wildlife conservation organization in action.
It takes time and money to train new volunteers! You need to be able to commit to 6 months and communicate via email regularly. Please give us up to 72 hours to reply to your application. We are a small nonprofit with a small staff. Please do not reach out to us via social media or phone to check in on your application. Orientation and trainings are held as we have time.
-
We require you to send us a background check. We can offer them for $20 or you can send us one you've already had done.
-
Those wanting to learn to do programming and handle the raptors, we ask for a $25 fee to cover your trainings, name tag, shirt, and large raptor handling glove for when you get to that point.
-
You need to be comfortable with ALL of the animals we care for. Please keep in mind, we care for lots of snakes as well!
-
You must be located within 45 miles of Florence, Colorado
Remember, we are an organization that cares for predators such as snakes and raptors! Predators must eat meat and you will be required to work in our food prep room and deliver meat. If you cannot handle that, then volunteering is not for you. This is a dirty job! Not only will you care and clean up after wildlife but you will be responsible for keeping our facility clean as well!
We take our team members seriously. If you cannot commit to 12 hours per month and cannot check email regularly and update your hours online, our organization is not for you. We believe you will get out what you put in - take time to learn about our animals!
Lastly, we do NOT offer tours of our facilities to potential volunteers. Please take time to look at our website and social media carefully and attend some of our events to see if we are a good fit for you.
